Event Description
Do you like sharing recipes, stories, books, craft ideas, watching little known movies and discussing all kinds of cultures- including diversity and pop culture? Yes?! Each month we will have a different shared experience - maybe a recipe? movie? craft? Come and participate in our "Culture Crew" and be part of an experience!
This Month - Dabke dance! Our presenter will provide a generalized discussion of the regions and discuss music from a specific region, discuss where Dabke is from and history. Dabke means "to stomp" in Arabic. The focus is on the footwork and stomping. When danced socially (weddings, celebrations, other gatherings), participants hold hands and dance in a line. Come participate and be part of an experience!
