Libraries across the Metropolitan Library System are ready for Halloween with take-home kits and in-person events for all ages. Whether you're crafting eerie decorations or enjoying ghoulish fun, there’s something spooky for everyone this season.

Metropolitan Library System Partners with Dolly Parton's Imagination Library Program to Bring the Love of Reading to Children in Oklahoma County
The Metropolitan Library System is launching an exciting new program to bring the joy and pride of book ownership to children across Oklahoma County. As affiliates of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, the library is encouraging families in Oklahoma County to sign children ages 0 – 4.11 months up for this book gifting program.

Chill Out and Read this Winter!
Winter break will be here soon! It's important that students continue reading even when they are out of school to prevent the "Winter Brain Freeze." One fun way to keep reading is to participate in the Winter Reading Challenge hosted by Oklahoma City Public Schools.

Love reading? Since you're reading a blog on your library's website, I'm going to say "yes, you do"! Then you'll definitely want to know about the first Oklahoma Book Festival, organized by the Oklahoma Department of Libraries. This big event will take place Saturday, October 20th in the OKC Boathouse District from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Your library will be there, with lots of smiles, answers, high fives-- and a fun temporary tattoo station.
