Event Description
Join us for a celebration of friendship using music. Registrants will receive the supplies need to make their own box guitar and plastic egg maracas. Making and playing the instruments will help little ones to work on their fine motor skill development. There are lots of important skills to be learned by engaging in music play, even if the sounds made are random. In addition to receiving the materials and instructions to make their own instruments, registrants will also be given some simple song lyrics that they can learn. So break out your pots and pans for a drum set, gather your made instruments, and find a singer to have your own family band!
To make the egg shaker participants will need approximately a tablespoon of one of the following: uncooked rice, uncooked dry beans, or beads. We will not be providing this in the kit.
Kits are one per FAMILY. Any duplicate registrations will be deleted. Kits can be picked up at Northwest Library from Wednesday February 3rd through Saturday February 6th. Registered customers must pick up kits by Saturday 4 PM or call the library at (405) 231-8650 to make alternate pick up arrangements as any remaining kits will be made available to waitlisted customers on Sunday. Due to high demand for these kits, all print outs and instructions will be posted here on the SUNDAY after the last day of pickup so that families with siblings or others who may not have had the opportunity to register can reproduce the kit at home.
