Program Description

Event Description

Come join us as we turn simple-looking paper strips into beautiful art by paper quilling. Paper quilling involves rolling, looping, curling and shaping paper strips and then combining them to create designs. Quilling is not just an art; it also helps with relaxation and hand-eye coordination. You will find it amazingly therapeutic to sit around the table with us and chat while we quill.

Our community group is for all quillers- beginners, experienced, or somewhere in between. We will have tools & supplies, along with a simple project, at each monthly meeting, so you can learn the basics and grow as a quiller. If you do have your own tools and supplies, please bring them and anything you're working on

Registration required so we know how many to expect. Please register each participant individually.

This month's project will be a simple tree ornament featuring the poinsettia, otherwise known as la flor de Nochebuena, which translates to the "Christmas Eve flower." Legend has it that a young Mexican girl named Pepita didn't have a gift for the baby Jesus on Christmas Eve, so she made a bouquet of weeds from the roadside. When she placed the bouquet at the altar, the weeds transformed into red flowers, a miracle that the congregation witnessed. Come transform plain strips of red and green and gold paper into a beautiful miracle of your own!
