Event Description
Ever dreamed of making your own games, apps and programs? Join the Edmond Library's Coding Club and start learning the skills and tools you'll need to eventually be a master game maker. We'll work for the next eight weeks in programs like Scratch and Blockly to give our 9-18 year olds a great understanding of the basics of writing their own code. A great mix of online and unplugged activities in class will teach digital citizenship and safety, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and program building, and fun sessions designed for home will keep building essential skills and reinforcing class ideas. Students who are not issued a school Chromebook may check one out from the library for the duration of this coding club session. Regular attendance is required to keep library chromebooks and remain enrolled in coding club. Valid e-mail address (of parent) is required.
Registration is required. Ages 9 - 18 only. This is a BEGINNER level course in Scratch and Blockly, using block code. A parent or guardian will be asked to attend a short informational session at the start of the first meeting for technology policy review and checkout.
