Program Description

Event Description

Do you like sharing recipes, stories, books, craft ideas, watching little known movies and discussing all kinds of cultures- including diversity and pop culture?  Yes?!   We we will have a different shared experience - maybe a recipe? movie? craft? Come and participate in our  "Culture Crew" and be part of an experience!

This month is a documentary about surfing and black history. The film explores the neglected history of Black surfing’s heritage by charting the origins of African aquatic culture and examining the evolution of Black surfing through the modern day.

Film is NR and recommended for Grades 9 to Adult.

Note: We will reserve a half hour after the movie for planning and discussion of our activities for the upcoming year. Let us know what you liked about last year's activities and would like to see in the upcoming months!
