Learn about beginning a successful business in Oklahoma from the professionals of SCORE, America's small business counselors. Score will be presenting three basic business classes August, September and November:
Class 1 - Organizing to Start Your New Business (August 20)
To start your own business you need to know the questions to ask: location and structure types, how to register in Oklahoma, preparation of the business plan, understanding business financials, and the steps to getting financed (federal, state, and local resources will be discussed). This course is a brief overview of the different areas to consider when starting a new business.
Class 2 - Financing Your Business/ Understanding Financials (September 17)
Do you wonder why your business has sales but you still aren’t making money? Have you ever wanted to know what your balance sheet, income statement and cash flow really mean? Join us for this workshop which takes a brief look at the financial aspects of running a business. This workshop will take a look at understanding your finances, the basics of setting up a financial system, how to read and understand your financial statements, and more. Both new and existing small business owners will benefit from this workshop.
Class 3 - Basics of Marketing for a New or Existing Business (November 19)
Looking for ways to increase sales for your business? Do you need help advertising and promoting your business to customers? Who are your customers? How do you reach them? Join us for this workshop which will cover approaches for creating and managing your marketing plan. Topics include how to determine your sales process, recruiting new customers, retaining existing customers, how to advertise your business, and much more. Both new and existing small business owners will benefit from this workshop.
