Event Description
Tweens! Thursdays are YOUR day in the library. On the first and third Thursday of every month, we'll have classes, activities and all kinds of fun just for you. Tween time is from 4 pm to 5 pm (5:30 for book club week) on the first and third Thursday of the month. Tween time is ONLY for grades 5 through 8 and registration is required.
CAMP HALF-BLOOD BOOK CLUB READS THE LIGHTNING THIEF: This month we are SO excited to journey with you and Percy Jackson to Camp Half-Blood in the first book of the bestselling series, Percy Jackson and the Olympians (soon to be a Disney+ series!) Learn about the Greek myths right along with Percy as he makes his way to camp, battles monsters right out of legend and searches frantically for Zeus's stolen master bolt before the summer solstice. We'll have three weeks to read the book, and then we'll join up at Camp Half-Blood for an exciting afternoon of camp crafts and activities, including our very own wild game of Capture the Flag!
Suggested reading schedule will be sent to registrants. Camp Half-Blood is scheduled to take place at the library OUTSIDE in Shannon MIller Park. Packet pickup will open MONDAY, August 30th.
**If the weather does not permit this program to take place as scheduled, our rain date is Thursday, September 23rd.**
**If registrant is found to be outside the permitted age range, their registration will be canceled and they will not be permitted to register for future programs in this series.**
