Program Description

Event Description

Immerse yourself in the captivating world of barn quilts and create your own vibrant masterpiece during this interactive library program. Barn quilts, a unique form of folk art, have adorned the sides of barns and outbuildings across rural America for centuries, and now you'll have the opportunity to experience the joy of making one yourself.

After delving into the various patterns and motifs commonly found in barn quilts, each with its own symbolic meaning and regional variations, it's time to get creative! Participants will be provided with pre-primed wooden squares, paint, brushes, and a selection of classic barn quilt patterns from which to choose. Under the guidance of an experienced instructor, you'll learn the techniques for transferring your chosen design onto the wooden square and painting it with vivid colors.
