Event Description
We are recognizing Arab American Heritage Month this April and celebrating the achievements, history, and traditions of Arab Americans.
This kit showcases the craft of Zellij in which tiles are used to create Moroccan mosaics. Handmade glazed tiles chiseled and are set in a plaster base. Patterns are traditionally based upon geometric forms. You'll make your own Zellij out of air dry clay and learn more about its history and used in Islamic architecture. Coloring sheets and a booklist will also be included.
Kits are one per FAMILY. Duplicate registrations will be deleted. Kit pickup is available during regular library hours Wednesday, April 20, through Saturday, April 23rd. Please call the library to make alternate arrangements if you cannot make it to pick up your kit during this time. Leftover kits will be made available to waitlist customers on the next day.
