Event Description
Each month, we meet share our thoughts about a chosen anime or manga series in this new kind of "book" club. All teens (up to age 19) with an interest in anime, manga, or Japanese culture are welcome to join and participating's easy. Just watch the month's anime prior to the meeting and come ready to share your thoughts about it! Whether you're new to anime and manga or a long-time fan, we hope everyone will discover something new to love!
What are we watching? This month it's an Anime Showdown: My Hero Academia vs. Tiger & Bunny! Watch the first five episodes of both series and come ready to compare and contrast!
About the Shows:
My Hero Academia follows Izuku Midoriya, a young boy who wants nothing more than to be a top hero like his idol, All-Might, in his superpowered society. There's only one problem: he's part of the 20% who don't have a power. He's on the verge of giving up his dream until a chance encounter with All-Might changes everything.
In the world of Tiger & Bunny, those with special abilities are called "NEXT" and many appear regularly on reality show Hero TV chasing down evildoers to win Hero Points for themselves and their sponsors in hopes of becoming the "King of Heroes." After another rocky season, veteran hero Tiger is forced to join forces with arrogant rookie, Barnaby Brooks Jr. to boost his ratings. The two could not be more different, but somehow must learn to get along, both for the sake of their careers and to face the growing threats in the city.
