Program Description
Event Description
Let your imagination soar at this special arts and crafts program made for little hands! Professional librarians will provide you with all the resources you need to spread your artistic wings. Children will have the opportunity to practice building motor skills, following directions, socializing with others, and more!
In the late 1960s and early 1970s, artist Alma Woodsey Thomas (1891–1978) painted abstractions inspired by moments—from nature viewed through her living room windows to the Apollo Moon landings witnessed on the television screen. In her home studio in Washington, DC, she reinterpreted the world around her through color patterns.
Using card stock and assorted pieces of craft paper, create your own Alma-inspired piece of art.
Kits are available on a first come, first serve basis and while supplies last.
