About The Village Library
The Metropolitan Library System has provided services to The Village since 1966, when the original library opened in a leased storefront at 9304 Penn Place, in the Casady Square Shopping Center. In 1990, the library opened in its current location in a building funded by a temporary sales tax approved by residents of The Village and enjoys strong support from the city and the diverse surrounding community. The library underwent a renovation in 2019, increasing the number of public computers and adding additional study rooms. The library also showcases two unique stained-glass pieces – a mural depicting library-related themes, and a depiction of local television icon Ho-Ho the clown.
The Village Library offers a broad array of services, including public access computers, free Wi-Fi, copy/scan/fax/printing services, programs and events for all ages, and a robust local collection of physical materials for all interests and tastes. Additionally, the library features three study rooms and two large meeting rooms that can be booked and used by the public.
Book drop location: To the right of the front entrance, inset into the wall of the building.
