Getting Started with the MeeScan App

Have you heard about our Metro Checkout app? It's never been easier to get the books you want, when you want them. And it's not just for Curbside; come in, skip the line and check out materials with it!

  1. Download the Metro Checkout app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
  2. Enter your library card number and PIN code. Your last name is your PIN code.
  3. Add other library card numbers for members of your family by tapping the person icon Account at the bottom of your screen.
  4. After logging in, press Start and you’re all set! 
  5. Feel free to explore the app before you arrive at the library to pick up or check out your materials!

Curbside Pickup

  1. When you arrive at the library open the Metro Checkout app and press the Pickup button at the bottom of the screen.
  2. The welcome screen will display. Tap Let’s Get Started.
  3. Verify your contact info.
  4. Enter which spot you’re parked in and a description of your vehicle. (You can also enter additional card numbers to pick up for in this box.) If you’ve registered for a bonus bag or take-home kit, you can enter that info on the next screen.
  5. Prepare to have a Metro Library staff member place materials in your back seat or trunk.
  6. When your materials are delivered, there’s no need to tap My Items Are Here as staff have already checked them out to your account and will close the transaction.

 

 

Drive Up & Call

When your holds are ready, arrive at your library, call us, press 3, and we will bring the materials to your car.

If you’ve registered for a bonus bag or take-home kit, please let us know and we can deliver to your car.

Holds will be placed in the your trunk, truck bed, or SUV cargo hold.

 

Curbside Hours

To find the curbside hours and phone number for your library, please visit our locations page and select your library from the list.

 

Self-Checkout

  1. When inside of the the library open the Metro Checkout app and press the Start button in the center of the screen.
  2. On the next screen, tap the + in the top-right corner.
  3. Scan your first item's barcode.
  4. Tap the + button again to continue checking out titles.
  5. Once you're finished adding titles for checkout, tap the Finish button near the bottom of the screen.
  6. You'll receive a completion screen with an opportunity to rate our app or you can tap the Close button.
