Make applying for jobs easier by gathering important information before you begin. Use these tools to help identify and organize the information you need to complete a job application successfully.
Get Started with a Resume Worksheet
- Download our Resume Worksheet
- Use this worksheet to identify and organize the most likely information you’ll need to fill out a job application.
- We recommend saving this document to the computer, typing your information in directly, and emailing it to yourself or saving it to a flash drive. You can also print it to fill in by hand. For in person one on one assistance, visit your neighborhood library or call 405-231-8650.
Gather Additional Application Information
It is a good idea to have the following information in front of you before filling out an online application:
- Work references:
- Identify around 3 people you know personally that can serve as a point of contact for employers seeking to verify information or ask questions about your background and work experience. Provide their full name, relationship to you, amount of time known, and reliable contact information.
- Get permission from your references before submitting their information. Make sure they know they might be contacted by a potential employer and that they're available to answer.
- Job history with beginning and end dates of employment, supervisor's name and contact information, and job duties
- Related education, skills, certifications and training
- Your contact information, including address, telephone number and email address
- For former offenders: The date of the offense, name of county and state where it took place
- List of possible documents to have available
- Veteran/Military documents
- Educational transcripts and/or certifications
- Official photo ID
- Social security card/birth certificate
- Oklahoma State Department of Education: Student Work Permit Instructions
