Do you like sharing recipes, stories, books, craft ideas, watching little known movies and discussing all kinds of cultures- including diversity and pop culture?  Yes?!   We we will have a different shared experience - maybe a recipe?

Join us every week for Tots Thursdays! Each week is filled with exciting activities designed to stimulate your child’s development while having a blast! Every month, we rotate through four delightful themes:

Come for the lemonade, stay for the games, crafts, and activities! We'll bring out our Nintendo Switch and compete in Mario Kart tournaments, play Exploding Kittens, do puzzles together, and more! For ages 12-18.

Kids, Teens, come use your imagination and make some pom pom critters. A variety of supplies will be set out so you can glue your critters together. See what kind of wild creations you can make! 

Where visual art meets poetry!

There's no more meaningful gift for a birthday than something you've made with your hands and heart! Come create two beautiful cards to celebrate this special day for your friends and loved ones.

Let your imagination soar at our toddler art time! We will use an assortment of odds and ends to create our very own works of art. A librarian will be on hand to provide you with all the resources you need to spread your artistic wings!

Join us after school for arts and crafts! Each Friday, come do a craft while you hang out with friends. We'll be doing all sorts of things, from bad art night to zines to paper mache!

Learn to Make a Simple Origami Dog and Cat! Kit includes step-by-step instructions with pictures and beautiful origami paper.

Do you enjoy knitting, crocheting or any other type of fiber arts? Then come join us every third Saturday of the month.

 Found amongst discarded old newsprints and magazines are many words and images waiting to be transformed into poetic works!

Come tryout paper quilling and leave with a work of art! This month's craft will focus on creating a customized monogram for your wall using simple paper quilling techniques. 

The Southern Oaks Library Fan Fiction and Fan Art contest was founded by John Hilbert. In dedication to John's work, the contest continues to recognize the remarkable talents of people in our community.

Prepare yourself to create some art! We'll have a slideshow of some modern and classic children's book illustration, and point you toward tutorials on the techniques used.

Join us to learn how to make a daisy bookmark to celebrate Library Month! Please have basic crochet knowledge, as this is not a course for absolute beginners. A hook and yarn will be provided for you.
