Learn about the complicated history of Juneteenth with researcher and librarian, Phillip Tolbert. Refreshments will be provided during the event.
How do geodes form? Why are they different colors? What kind of rocks are inside of geodes? Most importantly, how do you split them open? This program involves basic geode geology, then explores various types of rocks hands-on.

Celebrate Juneteenth at Southern Oaks Library! Children can attend a special Storytime provided by Thick Descriptions in the children's area. Attend a Poetry Reading provided by poets from the Society of Urban Poets in Oklahoma City.
Turn of the lights, and we'll glow! It's a black light paint party! Join us as we create artwork with UV reactive paint that glows in the dark. We'll also sip on some glowing mocktails.

Grab you chainsword and turn the tide against the Tyranid swarm for the first Ralph Ellison Warhammer club. First session will be assembling armies followed by a brief rules overview. Second session on will be devoted to playing.
