Program Description

Event Description

Mochi is a traditional Japanese rice cake that has been part of Japanese culture since ancient times. Not only is it a sweet treat, but it's also associated with ceremonies, festivals, and good fortune. Chi chi dango is a soft and chewy Japanese treat similar to mochi that is popular in Hawaii.

Celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month by making your own batch of chi chi dango. Complete with a recipe card, ingredients, and a brief history of mochi and chi chi dango, this kit invites you to explore a beloved tradition while honoring the rich heritage of Asian American and Pacific Islander communities.
