Event Description
Understanding Lactose Intolerance
Did you know that many people cannot eat dairy products such as cheese, milk, and ice cream because they contain a sugar called lactose? Many people can’t digest this sugar. This month, we will conduct several experiments to learn about lactase, the enzyme that digests lactose.
Due to the complexity of the project and the limited time available to complete it, children under 10 years old are required to have an adult or an older sibling attend the class with them to assist with the project.
STEM Club is geared toward approximate ages 9 -14, but any students up through 18 are welcome.
