Event Description

This course will offer you the basics of how to create a garden in your space, if you have a large home, apartment or a shared space, you can garden! You will learn how to prepare the soil, choose the right fertilizers, seeds, and seedlings. You will also learn how to prevent weed troubles. Additionally, you will learn about practical organic gardening, as well as container gardening when space is limited.

LaTasha Timberlake is native to Oklahoma. She works with many community organizations and sits on the Oklahoma Local Agriculture Collaborative Board. In 2019, she founded Lillian Timber Farms, a non-profit community garden in Northeast Oklahoma City. She and her team of volunteers have grown and distributed over 400 pounds of produce, facilitated numerous educational courses and programming, and supported many local environmental and agriculture based organizations including most recently working with the Metropolitan Library System’s “Metro Grows” Program. She is a certified herbalist, life coach, and practitioner of holistic wellness. She enjoys traveling, visiting art museums, reading books, and cooking.
