Event Description

”Why do we smile? Why do we laugh? Why do we feel alone? Why are we sad and confused? Why do we read poetry? Why do we cry when we see a painting? Why is there a riot in the heart when we love? Why do we feel shame? What is that thing in the pit of your stomach called desire?”

Happy Pride month! Join us on Zoom to discuss Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Saenz. You can check out this item as a regular book, or read the eBook on OverDrive or the Libby App. It's also available on CD and as an eAudiobook. This is a YA book but teens and adults are all welcome to attend.

Aristotle is an angry teen with a brother in prison. Dante is a know-it-all who has an unusual way of looking at the world. When the two meet at the swimming pool, they seem to have nothing in common. But as the loners start spending time together, they discover that they share a special friendship--the kind that changes lives and lasts a lifetime. And it is through this friendship that Ari and Dante will learn the most important truths about themselves and the kind of people they want to be.
