Celebrate Oktoberfest with a little polka in the park! Beginning at 1:30 PM, volunteers from the Czech Hall in Yukon will teach a 30-minute polka, waltz, and schottische lesson, so you're all ready to kick up your heels when the Classic Swing Big Band begins playing at 2:00 PM. And Coit's food truck will also be on site in case you work up an appetite or thirst with hotdogs and homemade rootbeer for purchase.
NO REGISTRATION is required, and ALL AGES are welcome! In case of inclement weather, we will bring the band and dancing inside with the food truck right outside the front doors! Come on out to celebrate FALL (finally)!!!
The Classic Swing Big Band is a dedicated group of volunteer musicians of all ages sharing the desire to keep swing and jazz music alive and well. They encourage students and gather new fans by finding the best, most FUN arrangements possible. They play for nursing homes, senior centers and all kinds of special events, like this one for the Edmond community!
