Join us on Facebook Live for a new segment of Author Hour as part of this year's LitFest! We are going to chat with authors Alaya Dawn Johnson (RECONSTRUCTION: STORIES) and Isabel Yep (NEVER HAVE I EVER) about writing and publishing short story collections. Questions are welcome.

ABOUT THE AUTHORS:


ALAYA DAWN JOHNSON

Alaya Johnson is an award-winning author of speculative fiction for adults and young adults. Her most recent novel, Trouble the Saints, was published by Tor in July 2020. Her short story collection, Reconstruction, was published by Small Beer Press in January 2021.

Isabel Yap

Isabel Yap writes fiction and poetry, works in the tech industry, and drinks tea. Born and raised in Manila, she has also lived in California and London. She holds a BS in Marketing from Santa Clara University, and an MBA from Harvard Business School. In 2013 she attended the Clarion Writers Workshop, and since 2016 has served as Secretary for the Clarion Foundation. Her work has appeared in venues including Tor.com, Lightspeed, Strange Horizons, and Year’s Best Weird Fiction. Her debut short story collection, Never Have I Ever, was recently published by Small Beer Press. She is @visyap on Twitter and her website is https://isabelyap.com.
