Have you ever seen an unusual rock and wondered what it was? Come find out how to identify it! We'll have three members of the Oklahoma Rock Club, who have worked as geologists for oil and gas companies and/or taught high school Earth Science, as they walk us through a geo quest! After a short discussion of earth's structure and layers, this will be a hands-on class where you will handle rocks & minerals and conduct tests of their color, luster, hardness, streaks, magnetism, etc. to narrow down the possibilities until you figure it out. It will be most appropriate for grades 3 and up, so please try to make arrangements for younger children. Register each participant separately.
The Rock Club will also be providing a display in our lobby throughout the month of April, so please stop by and check it out!
