Program Description
Event Description
Juneteenth—officially known as Juneteenth National Independence Day, but also Jubilee Day, Emancipation Day, Freedom Day, and Black Independence Day—is a federal holiday recognizing the emancipation of African American slaves, but also one that celebrates African American history, art, and culture.
These creative writing exercises celebrate Juneteenth by using photos, texts, and historical landmarks as a springboard for your own celebratory creations.
