Event Description

The right to protest is protected in the First Amendment, and these days, many people are exercising this right. However, a lot of discourse has been happening around what place protests have and should hold in our society, along with the "right" or "wrong" ways to exercise these rights. Join us for a panel discussion with local leaders that have been on the ground running protests, to learn what has led them to organize protests and what it is like to be a part of one. Our panelists include Reverend Sheri Dickerson head of the local Black Lives Matter Chapter, Sarah Adams-Cornell activist and founder of Indigenous organizations Matriarch and The Aunties Project, and Cynthia Garcia queer leader of the Community Protection Projects for United We Dream.
