Event Description

Join us the 3rd Saturday every month for Author Hour: where we talk writing, publishing and everything in between. Questions are always welcome.

This month, we'll be joined by four authors: Lydia Conklin (RAINBOW RAINBOW), Swan Huntley (GETTING CLEAN WITH STEVIE GREEN), Anita Kelly (LOVE AND OTHER DISASTERS), and Kit Mayquist (TRIPPING ARCADIA).

About the authors:
Lydia Conklin is the Helen Zell Visiting Professor in Fiction at the University of Michigan. They were the 2015-2017 Creative Writing Fellow in fiction at Emory University. Their fiction has appeared in Tin House, American Short Fiction, The Southern Review, The Gettysburg Review, and elsewhere, and is forthcoming from The Paris Review. They have drawn graphic fiction for Lenny Letter, Drunken Boat, and the Steppenwolf Theater in Chicago and cartoons for The New Yorker and Narrative Magazine. Their story collection, Rainbow Rainbow, will be published in June 2022 by Catapult.
**
Swan Huntley is a writer and illustrator living in Los Angeles. She is the author of the novels Getting Clean With Stevie Green, The Goddesses, and We Could Be Beautiful. She earned her MFA at Columbia University and has received fellowships from MacDowell and Yaddo, where she was the 2019 recipient of The LeSage-Fullilove Residency. Her work has appeared on Salon, The Rumpus, and Psychology Today, among others.
**
Anita Kelly is originally from a small town in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania, but now lives in the Pacific Northwest with my family, where she spends time in the woods with too much tea. She writes queer romance. Her full-length debut, Love & Other Disasters, is an nb/f adult contemporary romance published by Forever. It has an alarmingly pretty cover and a lot of food and feelings inside of it.

**
A fan of everything spooky and indulgent, Kit Mayquist is a trans man and Gothic writer who can be found in the historic shadows of Boston, MA, hunched over his desk with a sullen Persian cat in his lap and surrounded in antiques. He has a MA degree in Medieval History from the University of Iceland, and a BA from Portland State University. He is the author of TRIPPING ARCADIA.
