Bethany Construction

In the early 1960's, the residents of Bethany chose to build an 8,400 SF Library. Over the past 50 years, many people have passed through its doors, and it has played a significant role in the lives of many of Bethany’s residents. With all its use and the changes in library services, Bethany once again is looking to the future.

Soon, a new Bethany Library will be built. After seeking input from the Bethany community and evaluation by the architectural team, the current library's location near City Hall, the YMCA and the park still make it the perfect location for a new library. In order to make room for a new 23,000 SF library on the same site, the Library will be temporarily relocating to the Deville Shopping Center at 7941 NW 23, Bethany, OK 73008 - the corner of NW 23rd and Council Road.

The new Library, designed by Dewberry Architects, has been planned to include:

  • a large, subdividable meeting room with kitchenette
  • a conference room
  • media lab/makerspace
  • dedicated children’s area as well as teen area
  • children’s program room and porch
  • study rooms
  • a quiet reading room with porch

The spacious interior will introduce natural light for reader comfort, and will more than double the current number of seats and computer stations available. The new Library includes a drive-up book return and will increase the total number of parking spaces to meet day-to-day demand. The City also plans to improve the aesthetics of the nearby retention pond, make improvements to the park and introduce a walking trail.
