LIBRARY HOSTS FAN FICTION AND FAN ART CONTEST
OKLAHOMA CITY – The Metropolitan Library System is looking for local artists and writers to share their fandom and talent with the community for a chance to win prizes. Metro Library announced the annual Fan Fiction and Fan Art contest.
Submissions will be accepted through March 24 at 6:00 p.m. by emailing cjones@metrolibrary.org or by dropping them off at the Southern Oaks Library. Winners will be announced at the announcement party and awards ceremony on March 30, 2019 from 1:30-3:30 p.m.
Prizes for the winners will include gift cards, DVDs, plushies and more. The announcement party is open to all ages, but children younger than 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Fan art may be any medium and contain original characters but must contain copyrighted characters as the main theme. Similar rules apply to fan fiction.
“We are excited to host the Fan Fiction and Fan Art contest again this year! We have so many talented artists and writers in our community,” Children’s Librarian Cheryll Jones said. “We look forward to recognizing our local talent.”
