This article profiles the academic careers of seven Black Oklahoma City high school seniors who won National  Achievement Awards for their scholarship. 

The students were Robert D. Lonian, Ann V. Alexander, Charles Richard Evans, Hurlon James Dulan, Jr.. and Mernoy Harrison from Douglass High School and Maurice Coffey and Hubert Farbes, Jr. from Northeast High School.
