"Spirit of St. Louis"

Description:

Aviator Charles A. Lindbergh zig-zagged across the country for three months on a national aviation tour after he made history by crossing the Atlantic Ocean in May of 1927. On September 28, 1927, at 2:00 pm, he landed the "Spirit of St. Louis" at the Municipal Airport on New Castle Road (now Will Rogers World Airport) to the crowd awaiting his arrival.
