Reared and educated in Oklahoma City, Frank Champion began his aviation career in 1911, appearing at the Oklahoma State Fair in 1912. Twice daily, he performed daring aerial acrobatics in his monoplane. He perished in an exhibition flight at Kochi, Shikoko in Japan on October 30, 1917.
