The Ralph Ellison Library at 2000 NE 23rd St is closed for upgrades beginning April 16. We anticipate reopening on May 6.
The two-story, clapboard public school was located on the northeast corner of Main and Palmer on the 1903 Clarkson's Fire Insurance map of Spencer. This real photo postcard shows the students spilling out of doorways and the windows. A bell tower topped the roofline.
