Wheatley School

Description:

South side of Wheatley School, 200 E. California. Originally built in 1898 as Webster School, it became the segregated Douglass School in 1903, then  segregated Wheatley School in 1936 when Douglass moved to 610 N High. Wheatley closed in 1953 and the building was used by the school district for storage. It was demolished shortly after this photo in 1957.
