Future US Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall exits plane at Oklahoma City airport. At the time Marshall was Chief Counsel for the NAACP and was in town to attend the 1952 NAACP Annual Convention. In 1950, Marshall had successfully argued the landmark case McLaurin v Oklahoma State Regents which ended segregation in Oklahoma colleges and universities. At the time of this photo he was preparing arguments for the landmark case Brown v. Board of Education of Topeka which ended segregation in schools across the United States in 1954.
