Western National Bank

Description:

Western National Bank

The building pictured here was known as the Masonic Temple when it was built about 1893 on the northwest corner of Main and Broadway – one of the busiest intersections in the city. Martin Luther Turner opened his Western National Bank on the first floor of this building on January 1, 1899 and quickly became one the city’s leading bankers. In 1902, the Masons moved to 101 W 2nd and various offices filled the three story building. Western National Bank left the building after it merged with American National Bank about 1918.
