The Choctaw Library was a bookmobile until 1978, when it moved into a room at the Tri-City Youth and Family Center. In 1985 the library moved to the east side of the center. Tornado damage to the building caused it to close on May 3, 1999. The library reopened in another temporary location in the Choctaw Plaza on July 26, 2000. Then on January 20, 2004, the library opened in its permanent new home.
