New York has Harlem and the Apollo Theater. Oklahoma City had Deep Deuce and the Aldridge Theater. Habitués had great times there with the music of Cab Calloway, Billie Holiday, Count Basie and Duke Ellington.
The Glory Days of N.E. 2nd Street come alive again when the Metropolitan Library System presents “Swingin’ and Singin’ in Deep Deuce” in celebration of Black History Month from February 2 through 28.
