Today, we're debuting a new digital collection from BiblioBoard that features titles from independent publishers and authors as well as local, user-generated content. While the bulk of this collection is eBooks, it also contains images, audio files, and video files. All content in this collection is always available (you don't need to place a hold on an item) and there is no lending limit. Titles are arranged into groups called Curations and the eBooks in this collection have been selected by reviewers at Library Journal (LJ). Most of the Curations consist of LJ's top indie picks for a genre (romance, mystery, sci fi & fantasy, YA, etc.). We're especially excited for the Indie Oklahoma Curation that contains self-published eBooks from Oklahoma authors!
This video tutorial will help you familiarize yourself with the interface:
Content can be enjoyed without creating a BiblioBoard account but if you want to save favorite titles, create bookmarks, add notes to a title, download content, or synchronize your preference across browsers, you'll need to create a free BiblioBoard account. Titles can be enjoyed in a browser or downloaded to an Apple or Android device or to a Kindle Fire HD using the BiblioBoard Library app.
Finally, we plan to roll out modules in the future that will enable local authors to submit their works for publication and addition to our collection and enable us as an institution to publish content. Stay tuned!
