September is Library Card Sign-Up Month!

Incredibles - Library Card Sign-Up Month

Do you love your library? Spread the word!

September is Library Card Sign-up Month at all Metro Libraries. Oklahoma County residents can sign-up for a library card, refer a friend or re-activate their inactive card to be entered to win a Kindle Fire for all your eBook checkout needs.

The value of a library card really adds up! Users can access magazines, DVDs, music, computers, software, eBooks and eAudiobooks for free. Library resources are available at the library as well as from an electronic device. The library also provides opportunities for lifelong enrichment and assists and promotes the development of literacy skills.

A library card is also one of the most cost-effective school supplies you can get for your children. Library cards give kids access to educational programming, homework help resources and more. Studies show that children who are read to at home and who use the library perform better in school and are more likely to continue to use the library as a source of lifetime learning.

How do you get entered?

To enter you must fall into one of the three below categories.

1.Sign-up to be a library cardholder

2.Re-activate your inactive library card (if you have not used your card for 1 yr. or longer)

3.Refer a friend (the referral slip must be turned in at time of card enrollment - these are located at your local library)

Metro Library employees, volunteers and Commission members and their families are ineligible for this contest. ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED UNTIL 9 PM ON SUNDAY, SEPT 30 & the winner will be chosen at random using a random number generator. The winner will be contacted, and we will post the winner on our social media pages by Tuesday OCT 2. NOTE: Facebook messages or email messages may go into your "Other" or “Spam” folder and not your "Inbox" so if you win, keep your eyes open!

Good luck and thanks for being a Metropolitan Library System cardholder!
