Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard
The world is divided by the color of your blood. Red bloods are the commoners without magic while silver bloods have not only the noble station, but magical abilities to accompany them. That is, except for Mare Barrow whose red blood directly conflicts with the magical power she has just discovered. Before she knows it, she is out of the slums and in the royal palace itself, turning the world on its head. The status quo isn’t so easily changed though, and the King forces her to pretend that she is silver and betroths her to one of his sons. However, lies aren’t easy to keep, and neither are feelings easy to contain. There is a revolution coming and Mare has wound up in the middle of it. She has to figure out what side she will land on, before the choice and her life are taken from her.
