About Bethany Library
The Bethany Library opened on January 31, 1965 and joined the Metropolitan Library System later that year. West Oklahoma City residents, as well as residents of Bethany, are the primary users of this library, borrowing hundreds of thousands of books and other materials each year. On April 5, 2016, Bethany voters approved a bond issue to build a new Bethany Library that would be nearly three times the size of the current library. On November 16, 2019, the new Bethany Library opened in a 23,000 square foot building that includes 4 study rooms, 4 meeting rooms, and a makerspace.
Book drop: Drive-up return on the west side of the building.

StoryWalk®
Enjoy nature and Bethany's walking trails as you read a story. StoryWalk® begins at Cecil Mendenhall All Abilities Park and ends at the Storyteller Statue in front of the Bethany Library. The story changes every month so drop by to catch a different tale. The braille for each story is provided by the Oklahoma Library for the Blind and is located at the Information Desk within the library. And don't forget to use our hashtag #bethanyokstorywalk to let us know how it went.
The StoryWalk® Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and developed in collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library. StoryWalk® is a registered service mark owned by Ms. Ferguson.
Upcoming StoryWalk® titles are:
• Creepy Carrots by Aaron Reynolds (October 2023)
• Fry Bread by Kevin Noble Maillard (November 2023)
• First Snow by Nancy Viau (December 2023)
