    Watercolors are among the most popular media for hobbyists who love to paint. The transparent luminosity has delighted viewers and artists since the Paleolithic days of cave painting.

    Local artists Jim and Marilyn Pourtorkan will visit the Edmond Library, 20 S. Boulevard, to share their love of watercolors and introduce the basic skills and techniques of watercolor painting on Saturday, January 26, at 10:00 a.m.

    And that’s why the Metropolitan Library System Southern Oaks Teen Advisory Board, the Scarlet Kitsune Anime Club, Atomik Pop!, and Speeding Bullet Comics are co-sponsoring the 2013 fan fiction and fan art contest with winners to be announced at the Southern Oaks Library. Entries are now being accepted and the last day to submit your work is Sunday, March 17 at 6:00pm.

    You don’t have to be a technophobe to be left in a state of confusion when faced with a new gizmo for the first time. What you need is someone to patiently instruct you and get you started using it, and that’s where the Edmond Library, 10 S. Boulevard, comes in.
