    Did you know that Oklahoma is the home to the third oldest children’s choice book award in the nation?  The Sequoyah Book Award was first awarded in 1959 and is named after Sequoyah who created the 86 symbols that represent the different sounds in the Cherokee language.  The Sequoyah book award recognizes the unique creative achievements of American authors!

    The Sequoyah book award consists of 3 Masterlists:

    Yoga has grown so popular in Oklahoma City’s Metropolitan Library System (MLS) that the library now offers classes at seven locations, including programs for kids, from preschool to age 12.

    The touching story of Cain’s Arcade inspired people worldwide over two years ago. Filmmaker, Nirvan Mullick, hoped to share the creativity of a 9-year-old boy and bring a few more customers to his ‘arcade,’ made entirely of cardboard. Since then, donations for Cain’s college fund poured in, the Imagination Foundation was born, and the Global Cardboard Challenge was launched.
